Whitby Heritage Maritime Hub. Heritage Impact Assessment and Visual Impact Assessment
Working with partners Wilmot Dixon https://www.willmottdixon.co.uk/media and Enjoy Design https://www.enjoy-design.co.uk/ we provided heritage assessment and Urban Design support for the new Whitby Maritime Training Hub to be located at Endeavour Wharf within the historic fishing town harbour. Working alongside Historic England and North Yorkshire Council as principal consultees we demonstrated that the site in question was actually removed from the core historic area enough so as to limit any adverse impact. Added to this the Public Benefits and support for the town's traditional maritime trading, the scheme gained approval last month.

BARTON UPON HUMBER Non Designated Heritage Asset Study 2024.
We recently completed the Barton Upon Humber Non Designated Heritage Asset study in order to inform the local Neighbourhood Plan being undertaken by Design Yorkshire. This study presented to the community a viable local list of currently non protected heritage assets, as well as suggestions for further research or listing and other 'positive' buildings that could enhance any potential future conservation area extension.

This Grade II Listed Building had seen significant trauma over recent years with much significance being lost through inappropriate and unauthorised change. We were approached by the new owner Stone Developments to assess the significance of the building and help determine the appropriate area for new, contextual development to the rear. Despite some confusion over which was the back or front, we set out the significance and opportunities for this site and gained Planning and Listed Building Consent. Through our work we demonstrated that the gable range was likely much earlier than previously thought. Our heritage statement can be viewed below.
