Back from my trip to Asia, very inspired by whats happening in south east asia and the potential of development there but it needs to be directed in the right way to be truly sustainable. One wonderful story was from Yangon and the Yangon Heritage Trust who are championing the importance of preserving their historic buildings in this amazing city in Myanmar. http://www.yangonheritagetrust.org/home
In order to do this they have completed an urban design analysis to focus development in the right places without harming their unique heritage.

Andy Graham of TheUrbanGlow successfully helped obtain Planning permission for extensions and alterations to a Grade II property within the Bishopthorpe Conservation Area in York. My input into the Design and Heritage Statement, in conjunction with Architects www.uplandarchitect.co.uk succeeded in persuading the planning authority that the extension and modifications would serve to preserve and enhance the Bishopthorpe Conservation Area despite concerns regarding building line questions. TheUrbanGlow made a successful case during the application that the building line would be unaffected by the modifications.
